Blind Veterans UKMilitary charity for blind ex-Service men and women
Since 1915, Blind Veterans UK has given invaluable physical and emotional support to blind ex-Service men and women. We work with our beneficiaries and their families – providing training, support and advice, and creating a thriving sporting and social network for life. With our unique expertise, experience and comprehensive range of services, we enable them to lead independent fulfilling lives.
Our vision: our ultimate goal
We believe that no one who has served our country should have to battle blindness alone.
Our mission: how we'll make our vision happen
All blind veterans should have access to the finest quality of services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.
Our services include giving guidance and support to veterans as they adjust to their loss of sight and regain their personal independence. Whatever the level of support they need, we will work with them for the rest of their lives.
All of the below services are available to each of our beneficiaries:
Introduction weeks - a stay at one of our Rehabilitation & Care centres
Welfare Services - a dedicated person to monitor their welfare
Sports and recreation
Art and craft
Clubs and societies
We rely on the generosity of our supporters to continue providing these services to all of the blind and visually impaired veterans who need our help.
Giving a gift in memory of a loved one is a wonderful way to celebrate their life. People often ask for donations instead of floral tributes, or to honour someone's memory by supporting a charity close to their heart.
